Coos Bay, Oregon

Bob M. joined us at the Mill Casino in Coos Bay, he and Teddy would exercise two and three times a day.....I was soooo proud of them...

Imagine, hiking three times a day.....

Then I found out they were catching the Casino Shuttle. The stinkers!! Ted said, "He circled the Wagons, but the Indians still scalped him".....
The three of us went to the Comedy show at the Casino on Friday, and we laughed till we cried..
We saw Ben Tedder in "Defending the Caveman'.....It was not only good, but I now have a new
insight into the differences between 'man and woman'......

We came out of the show, and was told that there had been an earthquake while we were inside....I just thought the room was shaking with all the laughter.

The next day, while Bob left to go get his new kayak, Ted and I were sitting at my table, and
he said....."Oh Crap, remember me telling you about the huge pile of wood chips....and the ships that come into port from other countries to haul it away" !!!!!! I said Huh ??? Seriously, he had told me about this pile of what looked like sawdust (maybe 2 or 3 stories high) that was on the other side of the Casino. If you look closely, you can just see the Ships masts coming into the harbor. This was taken out of my window.
Then we chased it....

There are three tugs handling the whole process...two on the sides to direct, push and pull this big sucker and one little guy pulling...

This is the side tug...

These two side tugs turn it completely around till its backed in the harbor....

Hope this map can show you the process....we are parked at the #1 'X'....the arrows show
the ship entering the bay, being flipped around and then backed up to the dock for loading.
Its been loading for four days now.....and the pile of saw dust is almost gone......

This is the pulling tug, if you look closely, you can see the rope.....

All I could think of was "The Little Train That Thought He Could".....you know....

I THINK I CAN......I THINK I CAN.....I THINK I CAN.....

you can see all three tugs in this picture....

The Casino is on the left.....and the dock is right behind it.....

Of course, since we had chased the ship down, we happened to be right at the Casino door way....I took the camera home, guess where Teddy went????

Gold Beach, OR.

This was our 'Greeting' Committee at Quosatana Campground about 14 miles East of Gold Beach, Oregon. It was a great place to park because we were far enough from the Ocean to not have any wind and yet close enough to visit it often.....

....and the funny part of it was Sadie didn't bark or get upset by them.....

" Fort Feline Ferry"....This is a sanctuary for all of the cats lost or abandoned in the area. It turned out that thousands of cats became a ward of the 'Ferry'.....so that donations were begged for to keep the place going.....volunteers built the houses and took care of feeding and monitoring the animals for illnesses

The "CAT" Houses......

Even when the Ocean is grey and angry, it's beautiful.....

.....But it can take its toll!

If you don't believe me, just ask Mr New Life here....this had just happened during the storm the week before.....

Meet Lucy, she would come every evening to see what we had left on the grass....this picture was taken from my rig window.....

and Sadie would watch her very quietly....

We took one day and drove to Agnus...which as you can see by their sign, is very very small.

So small, they bought their own traffic light , just so the could say ...."turn right at the first light".......of course, it always says stop!!!!!

Mount Shasta

We spent the night at a rest stop between Susanville and Old Station....Sadie got to
run and run and run.......so did Ted.

This is taken from my rig as we were driving......I know, its dangerous, but it was too beautiful to pass up.....Mount Shasta in all its glory.

Snow on MT. Shasta.......goosebumps on Teddy......

Someone 'splain......to me, I thought moss grew on the north side of things..... I took this picture
facing West??????

...and this is his North side, and no moss here....
Campground at the foot of Mount Shasta.......

.......and please, someone help us, these had to be fir or pine, could not find it in the tree book,
was the most beautifully shaped tree I have seen, but don't know what kind it is......All along the highway to Mt. Shasta.

Up close and personal.......

Walker Lake @Hawthorne, Nevada

We spent four days at Walker Lake, I got to park right on the Point. It was great. Sadie thought so to....I kept having to telling her to play nice with the other animals....

Even the creepy crawly ones....

The full moon over Walker lake.....

We drove to Yerington, Nevada to see Rob F. and I forgot to take my camera. He had a real nice place, lots of great trees and a quiet neighborhood. The town is a pretty little place, clean and neat little houses, beautiful flowers..

Oops....Mr. Ted had a flat the morning we left for Carson, City....
