Coos Bay, Oregon

Bob M. joined us at the Mill Casino in Coos Bay, he and Teddy would exercise two and three times a day.....I was soooo proud of them...

Imagine, hiking three times a day.....

Then I found out they were catching the Casino Shuttle. The stinkers!! Ted said, "He circled the Wagons, but the Indians still scalped him".....
The three of us went to the Comedy show at the Casino on Friday, and we laughed till we cried..
We saw Ben Tedder in "Defending the Caveman'.....It was not only good, but I now have a new
insight into the differences between 'man and woman'......

We came out of the show, and was told that there had been an earthquake while we were inside....I just thought the room was shaking with all the laughter.

The next day, while Bob left to go get his new kayak, Ted and I were sitting at my table, and
he said....."Oh Crap, remember me telling you about the huge pile of wood chips....and the ships that come into port from other countries to haul it away" !!!!!! I said Huh ??? Seriously, he had told me about this pile of what looked like sawdust (maybe 2 or 3 stories high) that was on the other side of the Casino. If you look closely, you can just see the Ships masts coming into the harbor. This was taken out of my window.
Then we chased it....

There are three tugs handling the whole process...two on the sides to direct, push and pull this big sucker and one little guy pulling...

This is the side tug...

These two side tugs turn it completely around till its backed in the harbor....

Hope this map can show you the process....we are parked at the #1 'X'....the arrows show
the ship entering the bay, being flipped around and then backed up to the dock for loading.
Its been loading for four days now.....and the pile of saw dust is almost gone......

This is the pulling tug, if you look closely, you can see the rope.....

All I could think of was "The Little Train That Thought He Could".....you know....

I THINK I CAN......I THINK I CAN.....I THINK I CAN.....

you can see all three tugs in this picture....

The Casino is on the left.....and the dock is right behind it.....

Of course, since we had chased the ship down, we happened to be right at the Casino door way....I took the camera home, guess where Teddy went????
